Linz CC v Vienna CC

Linz Cricket Club batted first. This was our best twenty20 score to date. Improved performance all round. Thus finishing the outdoor season of 2010. We played 8 matches and won 6 of them. So very positive.

Training this weekend

There will be no training this weekend. Linz Cricket Club is playing two matches. On Saturday we travel South and play against Velden. Then on Sunday we travel over the border to Slovenia and play against Mezica. Really exciting as we will experience two more grounds in other parts of the world. Nothing like international cricket!

Will post a report when we get back. Still need to do a report from the previous game!

Cricket training and our first match.

This weekend (17th of July ) there will be no training. As Linz Cricket Club will help out ASKÖ Cricket Club Steyr field a team against the Austrian U17 national team, the match will take place on Saturday in Vienna. Should be great fun and will give many members their first ever taste of a proper cricket match. 


Linz Cricket Club / ASKÖ Cricket Club Steyr is also hoping to field a team on the same day at the Vienna Lions Cup 2010 in Vienna.

Linz Cricket Club continues to train. The club hopes to play a friendly match in July. So please feel free to attend and help grow cricket in Linz. We are a mixture of experienced players and beginners.

Our first game

Saturday training saw our first little game since forming the club. We had 4 teams, unfortunately one player had to leave early and thus Kevin had to be his own team!

Most importantly, the game gave the players a feel on how cricket works, running between wickets, fielding and the general level of concentration needed mixed with great energy levels!

It was fun, cheers to all that made it possible. Congratulations to Kevin who scored the most runs to win.

Weather looking good

Weather is looking good for Thursday training. Please see details below for further information.

Change of Venue / Time for Thursday practise.

Sorry everyone, We are meeting on Thursday the 13th. Please do not make your way to Pauerbachschule, Peuerbachstrasse on Thursday. Thursday is Christliche Himmelfahrt (Ascension Day) and the school is shut! (My error sorry!) 

We are meeting on the Donau Gelände at about 4pm near where the beach volleyball is played (be...ach soccer). If it is raining the cricket is cancelled.
